EMMONS, Nathaniel Henry, 2d, mining engineer; born St. Louis, Mo., May 12, 1870; English and Scotch-Irish descent; son of George B. and Martha (Davis) EMMONS; father’s occupation, literature; paternal grandfather, Nathaniel H. EMMONS, paternal grandmother Elizabeth (Wales) EMMONS, maternal grandfather Horatio Nelson DAVIS, maternal grandmother Margaret (Johnson) DAVIS; educated Washington University, St. Louis (Mo.); graduated same as engineer of mines June, 1893; began career as mining engineer in Mexico and Arizona and later in Tenn.; married Marion SHACKFORD April 12, 1899; member of Cowanee Club (director) Copperhill (Tenn.) Cumberland Club Knoxville (Tenn.) and American Institute of Mining Engineers, New York (N. Y.); is now general manager of Tennessee Copper Co., producers of copper and largest producers and shippers of sulphuric acid in the world; member of Presbyterian church.
