(chair), Clerk of Knox Co. Criminal Court 1910-1914; entered mercantile business at Concord, Tenn., in 1898, which interest he still holds; entered public life in 1910 as candidate for Criminal Court Clerkship of Knox Co., to which he was elected by overwhelming majority; stockholder in Bank of Concord; member Friend’s church of Knoxville, Tenn.
