BARNETT, John William Jr. lawyer; born Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 27, 1882; son of John W. and George Anna (Loftiss) BARNETT; English descent; educated Morristown high school and University of Tenn.; graduated from University of Tenn. B.S. and LL. B. degrees in 1905 and 1906; member Masons (Master’s Lodge of Knoxville), Theta Lambda Phi Greek Letter Frat; admitted to practice in all State courts in 1906; became associated with the firm of Burrows & Cross of Knoxville; in 1908 became associated with the firm of Wright & Burrows; in 1908 moved to Monterey, Tenn., and opened up law office; in 1909 returned to Knoxville and resumed association with Wright, Wright & Burrows with offices at 300-306 Empire Bldg, stockholder in several corporations of Knoxville; member Methodist church, South.
