ASHCROFT, Thos. C., manager Associated Press; born Verona, Miss., April 3, 1866; son Thos. C. and Laura (NOE) ASHCROFT; educated common schools of Mississippi; married Ida CICALLA April 6, 1904; member B. M. C., Jockey Club, reported Johnstown flood for principal papers in the United States; he accompanied William J. Bryan in the first campaign against McKinley; traveled extensively in Europe. He is at present the district head of the A. P. service for the Southwest. Large real estate holdings in Memphis and New Jersey; member Catholic Church.
