DUNLAP, William A., Internal Revenue Collector; born Friendsville, Tenn., March 21, 1867; Scotch-Irish descent; son of E. H. and Fannie (Rose) DUNLAP; father was a farmer; paternal grandparents Ephraim and Sarah (Devine) DUNLAP, maternal grandparents Andrew and Susan (Tuck) ROSE; educated at Friendsville Academy and Maryville (Tenn.) College; was a farmer and school teacher in early life; married, first Tincy Lee BIRKS, October 9, 1890; second, Mary C. MCCOMMON, January 31, 1899; K. of P., Scottish Rite, 32d degree Mason; was Trustee of Blount County 1896-1900; was engaged in insurance business, 1901-06; formerly a director in Kingston Bank & Trust Company, Kingston, Tenn.; appointed United States Marshal Eastern District of Tennessee, 1906-10; appointed Internal Revenue Collector May, 1910; member of firm of McNutt, McCommon & Company, Maryville, Tenn.; member of Methodist Church.
