WYNNE, Hugh R., cotton factor; born Forrest City, Ark., June 15, 1873; received primary education in Memphis, Tenn., then continued his studies in Webb School, Bellbuckle, Tenn; left school in 1890 and returned to Memphis and became interested in a stove manufacturing concern known as the Wetter Manufacturing Co., Inc., and in 1900 he was made secretary of same; the plant was destroyed by fire and the present firm of Abston, Wynne & Co. was formed; member of Presbyterian church, Chickasaw Club, Business Men’s and Driving Clubs.
