HARDY, Lewis Rogers, vice-president Brinly-Hardy Co.; born Louisville, Ky., Aug. 26, 1875; English descent; son of James Edward and Lucy Gilmer (Davis) HARDY; father’s occupation, retired plow manufacturer; paternal grandfather Nathaniel HARDY, paternal grandmother was a Miss HOWARD prior to her marriage, maternal grandparents Ben O. and Susan (Speed) DAVIS; educated Louisville, Ky.; graduated from University of Louisville B.A., June, 1894; worked in railroad office in early life; married Emma McGEHEE, daughter of W.E. McGEHEE, of Memphis, Nov. 24, 1909; member Memphis Country Club, Louisville, Ky., and Louisville Lodge No. 400, F. & A. M., also Memphis (Tenn.) Tennis Club; independent in politics; moved to Memphis Oct., 1905, for one year, returned Dec., 1907; practically sole interest with Brinly-Hardy Co., factory and headquarters, Louisville, Ky.
