CHIGHIZOLA, George Lazarro, public official; born Memphis, Tenn., Jan. 1, 1869; son of Augustine and Amelia (Podesta) CHIGHIZOLA; Italian descent; educated in public school and Christian Bros. College, Memphis, Tenn., graduated from latter master of accounts, in May 1885; in early life was a theatrical stage employee and later a book-keeper; married Hattie L. THOMAS, Feb. 12, 1896; member Elks, W. O. W. and International Assn. Theatrical Stage Employees; Democrat; member of Legislature 1903; at present City Tax Assessor; Military record: Coal Creek, 1891; 1st sergt. Co. “G” 2d Tenn. later captain of Co. “C” in Spanish-American war; member of Roman Catholic church.
