(Whipple) CALDWELL; father, farmer; educated at Union City and Lebanon, Tenn.; graduated at Lebanon Law School, LL.B. degree, 1872, and later received LL.D. degree; reared on a farm; married Ella GREEN, daughter of Judge Nathan GREEN, Oct. 22, 1874; Democrat; judge of the Court of Referees, 1883-1886, Judge of the Supreme Court of Tennessee for state at large, two terms, 1886-1894, 1894-1902; member Southern Presbyterian church.
