Obituary
Piety JANES died at her home seven miles east of dresden. Death
has made its inroad into our church at Thompson Creek taken away from
us sister Piety Janes. Sister Janes was born in Kentuckey and
moved to Henry Co. Tenn. with her parents at an early date. She
was born December the 11th 1819. Died February the 20th
1899. age seventy nine years two months and nine days. She
was married to Edward Janes July the 28th 1836. She was a
daughter of Harris and Meca Elisabeth Berry. She was a mother of
fourteen children. She leaves behind five daughters one son a
host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. She professed
faith in Christ at the age of thirteen and joined birds Creek Baptist
Church and moved her letter to Senter. from there to Thompson
Creek where she lived and died a consistent member. Resolved in
her death the Church has lost a consistent member one that loved to
attend the house of Lord. Resolved that the Church and bereaved
family have our deepest !
sympathy. that a copy of those resolutions be spread on the
Church book and a copy furnished the family a copy sent to the Baptist
and Reflector for publication.
