Obituary of Sarah J. Owen.
Died at her residence Nov. 16th 1884 in Weakly Co. Tennessee Sister Sarah J. Owen, wife of Bro. T. C. Owen.  The subject of this notice was born Oct 1849. and joined the United Baptist worshiping at Knob Creek Church in Weakley Co. Tenn. living in said Church about three years.  She then moving her membership to Thompson Creek church near Como Tennessee. Living in said Church until called away.  She was a member of Thompson Creek Church about 35 years, and will be greatly missed by the members of said Church as she was a truly pious christian woman, always faithful in attending church meetings until her health became such that she was confined at home.  Sister Owen bore her afflictions with that christian fortitude that belongs to the Children of God, and died in a full triumph of a living faith.  Funeral servises were held before her burial by Bro. C. C. McDearman.  She leaves, to mourn her loss, a bereaved husband; 4 children; several grandchildren; A father; 5 brothers and 3 sisters, besides many near and dear friends. In the death of sister Owen, the Church has lost a bright and shining light, her husband a loving and devoted companion; her children a kind and affectionate mother; and her neighbors one of their best friends.  She was such a good woman, in sickness always ready and willing to do all in her power to relieve the suffering.  Her example was one well worthy the imitation of all, both old and young.
