OBITS - Thompson Creek Baptist
Church
Volume 2, no page number, as written
1901 In memory of O. Eustice ALLMAN. Son of J. F. and Ann
E. ALLMAN. who died on the day of June
1901. He professed faith in Christ and joined the church at
Thompson Creek on or about 1889 where he lived an exemplary christian
life.
He had just entered his 27- year had been married but a few short
months and had just completed and moved into a neat comfortable
dwelling with his bride. How beautiful and joyous lifes future
must have seemed to him. but alas he was not permitted to enjoy
those transient and fading joys but for a short while as the hand of
bodily affliction was laid heavily upon him. until finally the
summons came, saying come up higher enter then into the eternal mansion
of undiserible splendor and never ending joys and peace where sickness
sorrow pain and death never enter.
Words may be inadequite to express or do justice to his knightly
character or manly worth but as long as memory has a voice, the
remembrance of what he was and how he lived will connect his name with
those who knew him best yes he who writes in hopeful words and gentle
deeds the records of his life in (live or line??) upon the hearts
and lives of his fellow man has left a record that will live until the
end of time.
To the bereaved ones who are left to mourn his absence we would not say
shed no tears for these are the avenues through which relief comes to
our burdened hearts. But thank God we can say weep not as those
who have no hope.
Then to the bereaved young companion. the aged father and mother.
brother and sisters we would say let the last glorious moments of this
dear ones life be a beacon light ever pointing to the heaven which
comes nearer to us and grows more attraction as we think of the loved
ones dwelling there yes Eustis has gone home to wear the crown while
eternal ages speed on.
In christian love and high esteam that we bear toward our departed
young brother we present his companion father and mother each with a
copy of this memorial also place the same upon the pages of our
memorial book also send a copy each to the Baptist Flag Fulton Ky and
Dresden Enterprise requesting publication.
Respectfully submitted
