Obituary.
In membory of Mary Jane BAUGHMAN who who was borned May 5th,
1827. Professed faith in Christ at the age seventeen and joined
the church at Thompson Creek in 1852. where she lived a devout member
until death which occured March 10, 1910. Truly we feel our
incompletnesy of doing justice to the membory of this good woman.
Had those who knew her best been asked to name the most noble pious
Christian of their knowledge the above name character would have been
among the first in mind to mention. A gentle, quiet, patient,
loving, self sacrificing spirit characterized her noble life which was
fought with many trials and afflictions. She was left a lone
widow with five children to rear which she did most accreditable until
the youngest Edward a lovely noble boy of much promise had arrived in
the years of manhood when he was suddenly and ruthlessly torn from her
fond embrace by being killed and burned while assisting to rescue
property from a burning building. This was endescriable grief to
that mother. We cannot think of any afflictions more sever.
She was about prostrate yet her faith and trust in God failed not and
these experiences of suffering seemed only to refine the gold in her
nature until she as it were a sheaf ready for the sickle of death which
came as a relief to loose the pent up spirit from its fetters of
disease and afflictions to soar far beyond the reach of all earthly
cares to be transplanted into paradise of God there to dwell forever
with loved ones gone before and to be eternally in the presence of the
God she so much loved
We tender to the sorrowing daughters and relatives our sincere sympathy
and say to them and the church strive to emulate the example this noble
saint has left upon record and may we all meet her in that beautiful
that blest forever is our sincere prayer.
