He moved to Tishomingo County, MS, into the Eastport area in the early 1840&#8217;s. He was the son of John Cook, Jr. He met and married Clearrinda Autry on November 24,1853 in Tishomingo County. He was a veteran of the Confederate army Co. G, 26th Mississippi Infantry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Six children were born to this union:<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mahala Cook, born Nov.1,1855, died Feb.24,1856<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mary Harriette Cook, born Nov.5,1856, died 1936.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Armintie Atra Cook, born June 9,1861, died 1928.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Absolom Martin Cook, born June 27,1864, died July 30,1947.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">James Alexander Cook, born March 3,1868, died April 29,1931.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Selena Caroline Cook, born 1872, died 1938.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Martin died Dec 7,1877 and is buried at old Pleasant Hill Cemetery north of Iuka. Clearinda died June 30,1903 and is buried at Shiloh Cemetery, Hardin County TN.
