{"id":2190,"date":"2014-08-17T18:00:03","date_gmt":"2014-08-17T23:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/wayne2\/?p=2190"},"modified":"2014-08-17T18:00:03","modified_gmt":"2014-08-17T23:00:03","slug":"court-june-1849","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/wayne\/court-june-1849\/","title":{"rendered":"Court June 1849"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Monday June 4th 1849<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\"> State of Tennessee) Be it remembered that a Corum County Court was began <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\"> Wayne County) and held for the Court of Wayne at the Court house in the Town of Waynesboro on the 4th day it being the <strong>first Monday in June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Forty nine<\/strong> the following Justice of the peace present and presiding to wit W <strong>CARTER<\/strong> Chairman <strong>MONTAGUE<\/strong> &amp; <strong>SHEPARD<\/strong> his associates<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Ordered by the Court that James <strong>McFALL<\/strong> be appointed overseer of the road of 2nd Class in the place of A M <strong>SOUTH<\/strong> and that he have the hands in the same bounds to work under his direction.<strong> Isued June 11 1849<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Ordered by the court that William<strong> FOWLER<\/strong> be appointed Overseer of the road of 2nd Class in the place of John M <strong>HAYES<\/strong> and that he have the hands in the same bounds to work under his direction. <strong>isued June 11 1849<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Ordered by the Court that Hartwell <strong>GREESON<\/strong> be reappointed Overseer of the road of 1st Class and that he have the following hands to wit William R <strong>GREESON<\/strong> Wm. R<strong> QUALL<\/strong>, Levi <strong>MORGAN,<\/strong> Gregory <strong>SINCLAIR<\/strong>&#8216;S hands John W<strong> MURPHREY,<\/strong> Wm. J<strong> COPELAND,<\/strong> Mastin<strong> ABIRNATHY<\/strong> Charles <strong>McCLEAN,<\/strong> John L <strong>LUTTS,<\/strong> Alexander<strong> LUTTS,<\/strong> Wm. <strong>MARTIN,<\/strong> and Samuel <strong>WATKINS<\/strong> to work under his direction &amp; all hands in the same bounds Isued June 11th 1849<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Ordered by the Court that Thomas<strong> STAGGS<\/strong> be appointed Overseer of the road of 1st Class in the place of A <strong>HARDESON<\/strong> and that he have the following hands to wit Thomas S <strong>CURTIS,<\/strong> Amos <strong>CURTIS,<\/strong> Wade <strong>CURTIS,<\/strong> Wm. <strong>CURTIS,<\/strong> A <strong>HARDISON,<\/strong> Thomas <strong>HINTON,<\/strong> Samuel<strong> HINTON,<\/strong> Lawson <strong>HINTON,<\/strong> Coleman C<strong> HINTON,<\/strong> Richard <strong>WHITE<\/strong> John <strong>SAUNDERS<\/strong> Henry G. <strong>MORRIS<\/strong> &amp; James H <strong>HINTON<\/strong> &amp; all hands in the same bounds to work under his direction And that he work from T. S. CURTIS to the County Line <strong>Isued June 11 1849<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Ordered by the Court that Ephraim<strong> CRABTREE<\/strong> be appointed overseer of the road of 2nd Class in the place of Zahariah <strong>BECKHAM<\/strong> and that he have the following hands to wit Finley S<strong> BECKHAM,<\/strong> Ephraim G <strong>GREEN,<\/strong> Wm.<strong> GREEN,<\/strong> Benjamin F<strong> BROOKS,<\/strong> Wm. <strong>WATSON,<\/strong> James <strong>SHANION,<\/strong> A P <strong>DOWNING,<\/strong> Andrew <strong>SCOTT,<\/strong> Samuel <strong>NELSON,<\/strong> Elias <strong>BECKHAN,<\/strong> and Cyrus <strong>WEST<\/strong> to work under his direction <strong>Isued June 11, 1849<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Ordered by the Court that Josiah <strong>YOUNGBLOOD<\/strong> be appointed overseer of the Road of 2nd Class in the place of John<strong> RAMSEY<\/strong> removed and that he have the hands in the same bounds to work under his direction Isued June 11th 1849<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> <span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Monday June 4th \/ 49<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\"> A settlement between Wm.<strong> JONES<\/strong> Clerk of this Court and Stephen LEE Administrator of the estate of Milly <strong>MATHENY<\/strong> deceased was this day submitted to the Court which was confirmed and ordered to be recorded<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">A settlement between Wm.<strong> JONES<\/strong> Clerk of this Court and T H <strong>MABRY<\/strong> trustee of Wayne County was this day presented to the Court which was rec&#8217;d and ordered to be recorded<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">Came Thomas W. <strong>WALDRUP<\/strong> to Court who was this day chosen and appointed Guardian of the minor heirs of Reuben <strong>WHITE<\/strong> deceased and entered in to bond of Five hundred and Twenty dollars with John L <strong>FIELDER<\/strong> and Thomas <strong>ADAMS<\/strong> his securities which was approved by the Court and ordered to be recorded<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times\">A settlement between Wm. <strong>JONES<\/strong> Clerk of this Court and M H <strong>BURKS<\/strong> Guardian of G.
