Rosters were transcribed by David N. Lee from material provided by William R. Morris.
The following roster of Company F was transcribed from page copies of the Report Of The Adjutant General Of The State Of Tennessee Of The Military Forces Of The State From 1861 to 1865, published in Nashville, Tennessee 1866. The abbreviated words are presented as they are written in the referenced publication. The only deviation from the published material is that the surname is always given first, whereas in the publication, the surname may sometimes be given last. This roster is presented in the same order as the publication, which is not alphabetical, start to finish. The basic order is: officers by rank, privates, discharges during service, transferees, deaths, and deserters. A brief regimental history appears at the end of the roster.

Regimental History
The Regiment organization began at Bethel, McNairy County, in August, 1862; six companies mustered (including Co. F) in November, 1862; two companies March, 1863; four companies, formerly in 1st West Tennessee Infantry Regiment (also called 7thTennessee Infantry) mustered in July, 1863; mustered out at Pulaski, Tennessee, July 26, 1865. Company F was organized at Bethel and mustered into service at Bolivar and Grand Junction, Tennessee, in November, 1962.
The regiment was at Bolivar during November and December, 1862. At the time of General Nathan B. Forrest’s first raid into West Tennessee, 83 dismounted men from the regiment, under Major D. M. Edwards, were sent to Jackson on December 18, at the time of Forrest’s attack on that place. Other detachments were engaged at Trenton and Humboldt, and on January 1, 1863, with Forrest as he recrossed the Tennessee River at Clifton. The regiment, usually in small detachments, was engaged in numerous skirmishes in West Tennessee. A partial list of these skirmishes include January 26, 1863 near Bolivar with the 22nd Tennessee Infantry CSA; April, 1863 between Bolivar and the Hatchie River with the 12th (Richardson’s) Tennessee Cavalry CSA; May 12, 1863 at Linden with the 27th Tennessee Infantry CSA; July 13, 1863 around Forked Creek and Jackson, Tennessee with Confederate forces under Biffle, J. A. Forrest, Cox and Newsom; September 7, at Holly Springs, Mississippi, October 7, at Salem, October 12, at Byhalia and Wyatt, Mississippi with CSA forces under Brigadier General J. R. Chalmers and Colonel R. V. Richardson. During the remainder of the war, the regiment was reported at Jackson, Trenton, Bolivar, near Somerville, Helena, Arkansas, Memphis, Shoal Creek, Alabama, Nashville, Edgefield, Tennessee, and finally at Pulaski, Tennesse where they were mustered out on July 26, 1865.
