Cemetery<br \/>Ellis View<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">This burial ground is called out in several deeds. Based upon when the burial ground was<br \/>\nfirst called out in the deed trail, it is believed that it was established by Mary E. Love. Mary was thought to have been born in 1841. The subject property came into the Love family in 1837. It is possible that some of the interred were slaves, but no proof of that has been found. It may be more probable that the burial ground was established after the Civil War, but prior to 1900.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Mary\u2019s father is known to have been named Robert Love. Mary had a son, Jackson Sevier Love. It appears that Mary never married.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"><u>LOCATION<\/u><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"> \u2013 About 300\u2019 southeast of the intersection of Cherokee Road (SR67) and Cherokee Mountain Rd. Based upon deed records, the burial ground measures 13-1\/5 poles by 3 poles and fronts on Cherokee Mountain Road.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"><u>GPS Location:<\/u><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"> +36 14.960N and -82 25.150W<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"><u>DEEDS<\/u><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"> \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Deed Book 22, Page 149 (1830) \u2013 Jacob Hunter to Clarke Hunter<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Deed Book 22, Page 65 (1837) \u2013 Clarke Hunter to Dillard Love<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Deed Book 25, Page 61 (1842) \u2013 Dillard Love to Mary E. Love (infant of Robert). This deed is an interesting read.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Deed Book 78, Page 390 (1900) \u2013 Jackson Sevier Love to William F. Anders. This is the first deed to mention a burial ground. It is defined in the metes and bounds as 13-1\/5 poles by 3 poles and is excepted from conveyance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Deed Book 426, Page 525 (1969) \u2013 Anders et al to Lowell Ellis.
