Established about 1875 by William P. Bailey.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">This burial ground is quite well kept and is still active for immediate family members. It is tucked up on a hillside and not readily visible from any roadway.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">The name \u201cWilliam P. Bailey\u201d has not been specifically tied to this burial ground. The distance from Jonesborough is correct. The first Bailey to own this property was Fieldon Bailey, whose grandfather was a William Bailey. No further name connection has been made. This burial ground was clearly established at the time the WPA prepared the WCCL. The difference in the establishment year has not been determined. Also, no deeds have been found for a \u201cWilliam P. Bailey\u201d anywhere in the subject district.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><u><b>LOCATION<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"> \u2013 4629 Highway 81 South in the Embreeville community. A few have a call or two mentioning the graveyard. The deeds mentioned here cover the parcels that would include where the burial ground is situated.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">Deed Book 167, Page 191 (1910) \u2013 Amanda Beals receives her share of the W. N. Beals partition.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">Deed Book 180, Page 429 (1929) \u2013 Amanda adds her husband, Fieldon Bailey, as joint owner. Amanda and Fieldon were married about 1921. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">Deed Book 188, Page 359 (1931) \u2013 Fieldon Bailey to his brother, Samuel. This deed is the first to mention and except a graveyard, and was for only a portion of the entire tract. Technically, Fieldon and Amanda retained ownership of the burial ground.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">There have been a few partitions and conveyances since, however the subject graveyard has remained in the Bailey family to this day.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><u>BURIALS<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"> \u2013 The first known burial was that of a premature child of Samuel and Bessie Bailey. This child died in 1930.
