Bennett and the Watauga Association of Genealogists, V. II, page 277, used with permission by Loraine B. Rae.<\/p>\n<p>Two and 1\/2 miles Southwest of Jonesboro, on the left side of the Memphis to Bristol Hwy. [Old State Route 34]. Established about 1827 and discontinued about 1913. This information given by William Allison of Jonesboro, whose grandmother, Mrs Chester was buried here in 1913.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">The Lyle Cemetery is also known as the Chester-Mahoney Cemetery (CMB 2-1 and 2-WCCL)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">From the WCCL in volume 2 of CMB<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">CHESTER-MAHONEY\u20142-1\/2 miles Southwest of Jonesboro, on the left side of the Memphis to Bristol Hwy.\u00a0 Established about 1827 and discontinued about 1913.\u00a0 This information given by William Allison of Jonesboro, whose grandmother, Mrs. CHESTER was buried there in 1913.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">The William Allison mentioned was William Chester Allison (1895-1962 buried at Maple Lawn).\u00a0 His parents were Archibald Allison and Jessie Rebecca Chester.\u00a0 William Allison\u2019s maternal grandparents were William Patterson Chester (1925-1955, buried Old JBO) and Elizabeth C. Lyle Chester.\u00a0 Elizabeth C. Lyle Chester was the grandmother, Mrs. CHESTER, whom William was referring to.\u00a0 She was born 1827, and probably died in 1911, not 1913.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">The Katie Chester enumerated in CMB\u2019s Lyle entry (Vol2-1) was a sister of Jessie R. Chester and a daughter of Elizabeth C. Lyle Chester.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">Archibald Piper was married to Julia Caroline Lyle, who was a sister of Elizabeth C. Lyle Chester.\u00a0 Their son, Charles Piper, was married to Sarah Eva Mahoney, daughter of Josiah and Mary Ann Walker Mahoney.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">Elizabeth C. Lyle Chester, Julia Caroline Lyle Piper, and Cyrus W. Lyle were all children of Samuel Alexander Lyle and Cassandra Boren.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Although no familial connection has been found, Julia I Nave Lewis and her husband James F.
