Burson, Zachariah Lyle, Rev. – Born 12-05-1817. Died at Bristol. In Old Cemetery, east end of Town, pastor Rev. J.R. Harrison. Vol. XXVI #21, Wednesday September 11, 1894.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Burton, Thomas \u2013 Born May 11, 1810, was 75 years. A veteran of Mexican War. Four Mexican War Veterans were pallbearers. Vol. XVI #46 Thursday February 25, 1886. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Campbell, Mattie (Mittie) \u2013 Died September 1, 1873 in Bristol. Daughter of Rev. Z.L. Burson. Buried by the side of nine other children who have gone before. IV #50 September 4, 1873.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cox, Cadet Midshipman Will H. – Drowned at Annapolis Md. April 14, 1875. Son of John D. Cox. Burial will take place at cemetery on Sunday. Vol. VI #30 Thursday, April 15, 1875.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cunningham, Samuel B. – Infant son of Samuel A. and Alice N. Cunninham, died at the residence of his father, Carter Depot on July 24, 1870, age six month and seven days. Vol. I #8, Thursday, July 28, 1870.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Deadrick, Alfred S. – Born Sepember 16, 1845, died May 21, 1907. A distinguished lawyer. Was in Confederate Army. Buried with Masonic Honors in Old Cemetery. Vol. XXXIX #9 Wednesday, May 29, 1907.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Graham, Wm. – Died on Thursday, December 21, 1871 and was buried in town cemetery with Masonic honors on the 23rd<\/sup>. Vol. III #17 January 4, 1872. NO MARKER<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lucky, Mrs. Mary \u2013 Death came Sunday June 18, 1903. Born August 27, 1817. Several friends from Knoxville attended the funeral. Vol. XXXV #10 Wednesday, July 1, 1903. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

McClure, John F. – Died Jun 26 1895 in Rome, Ga. Remains brought to Jonesboro and buried in Old Cemetery. XXVII #13 Wednesday July 24 1895.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mason, Sue Tyler \u2013 Died in Washington City on last Sunday, the wife of Rev. Jas. G. Mason. Her remains was brought to this place and burial will take place today. Vol. VI #21 February 18, 1875. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mathes, Florence \u2013 Died in this place, this morning, Florence Mathes, daughter of John S. and Anna S. Mathes, age two years and four months. Vol. IV. #52 September 18, 1873.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Naff, George Eakin \u2013 Died March 14, 1899 in Johnson City. Buried in Old Cemetery Jonesboro. Vol. XXIX #47 Wednesday, March 15, 1899.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Naff, John H. – Died June 23, 1898 having reached the age of eighty three years. His remains were buried Friday afternoon in the old cemetery. Vol. XXIX #10 Wednesday, June 29, 1898. NO MARKER<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Nelson, Col. David M.\u2013 Born 1845, died 1881 at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. S.A. Cunningham, of this place on Thursday morning of last week. Mr. Nelson was the son of the late Judge Thos. A.R. Nelson. He joined the Federal Army and served on Gen. Gillam’s Staff. He was buried in the town cemetery Friday morning beside of his mother, and grandfather and grandmother Nelson. Osborne, Capt. Thomas \u2013 Information wanted: As to the site of the grave of Capt. Thos. Osborne who was buried in the old Jonesboro cemetery during the Civil War. Vol. XXXIX #28 Wednesday, October 9, 1907. NO MARKER<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Patterson, J.W. – Born May 25, 1854, died June 29, 1895, Saturday evening about 7:45 o’clock, in the wreck of the Bristol accommodation as it was nearing Limestone.. Funeral took place here on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hickson and the remains were interred in the old cemetery on the hill. Vol. XXVII #10 Wednesday, July 3, 1895.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Reeves, Isaac Edward \u2013 Died January 21 1899 in Asheville. Born May 10, 1842. Vol. XXIX #41 Wednesday February 1, 1899.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Reeves, Mary Murphy \u2013 Died October 15, 1905. Funeral conducted by Rev. J.H. Groseclose and was buried in Old Cemetery in the east side of town. Vol. XXXVII #29 Wednesday October 18, 1905.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Reeves, Wm. P. – Born December 15, 1803, died 20 Aug 1885 at his home, Wheatland at age of 83. Vol. XVI #27 Thursday, August 17, 1885.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rhea, Wm. R. – Born October 20 1840, died June 1, 1903. Remains were brought here from Morristown on the train Tuesday and buried in the Old Cemetery that afternoon with Masonic honors. He was a postmaster in Johnson City and worked at the pension office of Knoxville. Vol. XXXV #6 Wednesday, June 10, 1903.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sevier, Lucy Evans \u2013 Born February 11, 1840, died February 1, 1903. She was one of six children of Hamilton and Minerva Evans. Married to Dr. W.B. Sevier. After Dr. Sevier died, she and her little son went to Indian Territory and taught Government School at Tallequah. Vol. XXXIV #44 Wednesday, February 18, 1903.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Slater, Ada Trusler \u2013 Died March 25, 1905. Wife of E.C. Slater and daughter of Andrew Trusler. Early Saturday morning Mrs. Slater gave birth to twin girls and in a few hours both mother and children had passed. They were laid to rest in the same casket in the old cemetery. Vol. XXXVI #52 Wednesday March 29, 1905.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sparks, Miss Sophia \u2013 Death came at 8:00 Monday at the residence of Bro. Wm. Sparks and was buried in the cemetery in this place (Jonesboro) Tuesday. Vol. XXXIII #29 Wednesday, November 6, 1901. NO MARKER<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Stuart, Samuel Decator \u2013 Born Mar 29, 1866 Boones Creek, died November 8, 1893. He married Miss Mamy L. Fain, who survives him with a little son three months old. Funeral services were held in the Church at 10:30 Thursday morning and the body was buried in the old cemetery at Jonesboro. Vol. XXV #29 Wednesday November 15, 1893.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Waldren \u2013 Died at Knoxville on evening of the 14th<\/sup> [January 1874] and remains brought to this city for interment in the town cemetery. Vol. V #17 January 15, 1874. NO MARKER<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Williams, Joseph \u2013 Born November 16, 1810, d. February 14, 1898 at Lyons View Asylum. Father-in-law of Dr. E.L. Deadrick. Lived on Tadlock Farm below town. Vol. XXVIII $43 Wednesday, February 16, 1898.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
