Ryan African-American Cemetery

The graves are located approximately 275 yards off Malone Hollow Rd., Jonesborough, TN behind the second house in a wooded area on the property formerly owned by the late Jake Leonard. Twenty-nine graves unmarked and marked with a fields stone were found. One old funeral home marker was located but no writing remained.<\/span><\/p>\n

The late Catherine Malone told a neighbor that she remembered the deceased being brought to the cemetery in a purple hearse.<\/span><\/p>\n

RYAN\u00a0 –\u00a0 3 \u00bd mi NE Jonesboro on the Jake Leonard farm in the 15th District. This is a small private cemetery. It has been abandoned for several years and is grown up in weeds, honeysuckle vines, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n
