I am looking for information on Joshua G. HICKERSON of 1800 Warren
County, Tennessee, McMinnville. His wife was Susanna and she was from
Virginia. Joshua was from Tennessee. They married about 1820 in
McMinville. He is burried at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Viola with a
large tower stone by the center tree. Where was Susanna buried and
what was here Surname?

Isaac Crockett MITCHELL & Susan BAKER are my g-grandparents. Martin
MITCHELL & Angeline MOORE are my g-g-grandparents. There is a Martin
MITCHELL married to Angeline MOORE in the Combs-Johnson-Murrell
Families in the Warren Cty site. If I can prove that these two Martin
MITCHELLs and Angeline MOOREs are the same, I have located two more
generations in my MITCHELL line. Does anyone know the children of
these two. Need to prove that Martin and Angeline in C-J-M Families
are the parents of Isaac Crockett MITCHELL. Any info would really be

I am looking for information on the surname McKaig, sometimes spelled
Mccagg. Finley and Sinthy McKaig were on the 1850 Warren County
census and I believe they died around 1853. They had three boys under
the age of five at the time of their death. John,George and William.
John was my GGrandfather.I am not sure of where the boys went after
their parents death. My GGrandfathers middle name was Wilson which may
be a family name. I also believe the name Finley was a family
name.Ive seen a Majors cemetery listed, is that in Coffee County? I
am also looking for a James McKaig who I believe to be the father of

Am searching for background on the family of Rubin/Ruben/Reubin
DAVIS, born approximately June, 1865, in White County, TN. I believe
I may have found his parents on the 1880 soundex index, located in
White County, TN. I was looking for Rubin, and this is the only
Rubin I found on the soundex who is about the right age: DAVIS,
Samson, white, male, aged 41, born in TN; Sarah, wife, 38, TN; Mary
Lou, dau, 17, TN; Reuben, son, 14, TN; William, son, 13, TN;
Carter, son, 9, TN; Winney Caroline, dau, 8, TN; Nancy Jane, dau, 5,
TN; John Zebedee, son, 3, TN; Samson, son, 1, TN. Ruben DAVIS married
Liley Ann KIRBY, born around Aug, 1870, in Warren Co, TN. Ruben and
Liley DAVIS lived in White Co, TN, for several years, and they show
up on the 1900 TN census in White Co. Between 1900-1913 they moved
to Bardwell (Carlisle Co), KY. I only know about the following

I'm searching for information about Liley Ann KIRBY, apparently born
around Aug, 1870, in Warren Co, TN. She married Ruben (various
spellings) DAVIS (born around June, 1865, in White County, TN). They
apparently resided in White County, TN for a period of time, later
moving to Bardwell (Carlisle Co), KY.
They had at least eleven children, and I only know about five of them
(dates according to information on 1900 census):
John Lee DAVIS, b. Oct 1886 TN; Henry DAVIS, b. Feb 1890 TN; Nettie
DAVIS, b. June 1892 TN; Elmore DAVIS, b. Dec 1898 TN; Edna Irene
DAVIS, b. Sep 19, 1913 Bardwell, KY.
They show up on the 1900 census in White County, TN, but moved to
Bardwell, KY, sometime before 1913.
Edna's birth certificate indicates there were eleven
children born to the couple but only 7 living at the time of Edna's
birth. I don't know if those children were born in Tennessee and/or
Kentucky.

I would like to exchange info with other JOHNSTON and FRAZIER
researchers. There were about 17 JOHNSTON families listed in the
1812 tax list of Warren County. My ancestor was named Thomas
(Marion?) JOHNSTON b. 1823 who married Martha Belle FRAZIER d/o James
FRAZIER and Mary DOWELL FRAZIER. Both FRAZIER and JOHNSTON families
moved to Madison Co. ARK about 1832. I am curious to know why so
many Warren County families moved to ARK about that time and I would
also like to know about the Hill Wagon Train I have seen mentioned in
so many other
Warren County Queries.

HILL and Eliza J. CAGLE, b. 1809 Warren Co., TN, and information on
any children they may have had.
I believe this Andrew J. Hill is Andrew Jackson HILL, b. April 25,
1816 Warren Co., TN, son of Henry John Alexander Hill b. 1774 and
Polly Johnson of Warren Co., TN, and grandson of Isaac Hill, Sr., b.
1748 who also lived and died in Warren Co., TN.
Eliza J. CAGLE was the daughter of Charles Cagle and Susannah. She
had three brothers and three sisters; Littleton Young Cagle, David
Cagle, Henry E. Cagle, Elizabeth Cagle, Margaret Cagle, and Rebecca
Cagle. All were born in Warren Co. except the two oldest girls who
were born in Moore Co., NC.

Hello,
I am looking for any information on James Monroe CASH b. 1825-6 in
Warren Co.(need confirmation on this) and Wife Sarah E. HARDEMAN b.
1828-9. Their children were John E., Robert Stephen, William
Hardeman, Reuben, Mary A. and James Monroe CASH Jr. This family was
in MO ca. 1850-1860, then came back to TN, appearing in Meigs Co. in
the 1870 census. They supposedly wound up in Warren CO. Ca. 1870-80.
James Monroe CASH may have died in Warren Co. and I am looking for
any biographical/obit. record on him to confirm who his father was,
as I have several conflicting lines. Any help would be greatly

DUKE - searching for death information on Lucy Ann Allmon Duke, wife
of Alexander M. Duke. According to family tradition, they lived in
Warren County in the early 1900s. They are both in the Cannon Co
census of 1910; he died 1912; she may have died c. 1918 (unknown what
date or where); she is not in the 1920 census for the state of TN.
She is buried (I assume since her headstone is there) in the Liberty
Cemetery (also known as the old Duke cemetery) located on the
Cannon/Coffee county line. Any leads appreciated.

Cordelia Coulson, daughter of Henry (b. 1808 VA) and Mary Coulson was
born in Prairie Plains, TN about 1858. Her siblings were Samuel,
Mary A, Sarah, James and John. This family was on the 1860 Franklin
County Census. Cordelia Coulson married Dr. David Hindman of Coffee
County about 1877. Their Daughter was Emma Docia Hindman.
It is possible that the Henry Coulson named above was the brother of

William LAKEY or LEAKEY married Vina (believed short for Levina)
OVERTON in Warren County sometime prior to 1841. Family history
states that shortly after Vina passed away, her husband rode up on
horseback and asked if any one wanted to marry, Jane OVERTON answered
"I do" and they did.

David Newton DARNELL was born in Morrison, Warren County, TN. on
3/27/1857. He married Mary Isabelle REYNOLDS of Centerville, AR. on
3/23/1883 in Sulphur Springs, TX. I would like any available
information on his family and their origins. He seems to be too old
to be a grandson of Davis Darnell.

Looking for the town of Hiddle, Tennessee. My ancestors, Katharine
I.,
"Kitty" ARMSTRONG and her sister, Elizabeth ARMSTRONG, removed to
Miller County Missouri, and married the LONG brothers, Allen LONG and
Nicholas LONG. The girls reportedly came from the town of Hiddle. The
LONG brothers were from Warren County.

I am seeking information on Finley MCKAIG(MCCAGG)married to
Sinthy(maiden name unknown)listed on the 1850 Warren Co census. They
both died at a young age, around 1853. They had three sons; John,
George and William. John MCKAIG(middle name Wilson)was my GG
Grandfather. I believe George died during the civil war as a civilian
and William died at Smartt in 1898. I have found a John MCKAIG who
died in Warren Co in 1834. Could possibly be related. I am trying to
determine the parents of Finley. Any information would be greatly

Searching for information on the family of William H. Lynn, husband
of Martha Parsons Lynn. William was killed in 1864 in the Civil War
as a Union soldier. Also searching for information on the McCormick
family of Warren, Coffee or Grundy counties. William "Bee" McCormick
and Fidelia Hastings (Hastings?) had a daughter named Lelia Mae and a
son named John Taylor McCormick. Lelia is my ggrandmother. Also

Seeking info on John CUNNINGHAM (POB=TN) married to Rachel Davis
ROGERS/RODGERS (POB=TN). I found them in Warren County, TN. in the
1850 census; Ballard County, Ky.in the 1860 Census. However, by 1860
John CUNNINGHAM is not listed in the census with the family. Based on
the birth of last child, John would have been with the family at
least until 1855. Their first child was born in ARK. abt. 1840. They

1828, Elder John Keele, is listed as a member of the "Baptist Church
of Christ on Hickory Creek" near Viola, TN. John's wife is Nancy

Charles MYERS and Amanda Jennie MYERS lived in McMinnville in 1900.
They had a son named Claude(my grandfather)who served in the
Sp.American War. I will be visiting in mid-Oct. Does anyone know if
Charles and second wife Annie have descendants in town now? Were the

I am researching BOWMAN/DENTON, particularly William Carrol Bowman
and
Nancy Denton and their respective families. I believe they lived in
Warren, VanBuren counties. William Carrol and Nancy had one son Ozias
Denton Bowman in 1842, he was born in Spencer, Van Buren county, TN.
Ozias and other Bowmans migrated to Monroe county, KY. around the
time of the civil war. I am trying to identify these and other family
