Looking for information about Buchanan JAMES who lived as an adult in
Statesville, Wilson County, Tennessee. I am particularly interested
in finding out who his parents were. He was born in North Carolina
c1790 and moved to Statesville, TN about 1810. He married Margaret
"Peggy" McMinn Lewis c1815 in TN.
They had 13 children: Elizabeth Ann b7/5/1816 (m Dr. Sampson Knight),
Daniel b1818 (m Malinda Jennings), Catharine b10/19/1819 (m William
Adkins Jennings), Samuel bc1820 (m Martha Gilliam), Enoch Henry
b6/1823 (m Eleanor Thomas), Buchanan Jr. bc1824 (m Rachel Ayers),
Alvy (my ancestor) b5/2/1827 (m Lucinda Livicie Thomas), Richmond
bc1830 (m Amanda Price), Leander bc1832, Martha bc1834 (m Dr. James
Neily), Jane bc1836 (m Dave Chambers), Ellen Frances bc1839 (m John
Tucker), and Rufus bc1842.
Buchanan James, Sr. bought land in Warren County Tennessee on Jan.
16, 1832 from a William James of Warren County. Wit: Daniel James,
James James, and Lutha James. Buchanan James died c1858.

newpaper article and featured in Donald Pugh's research (alive at the
time of).

Looking for John and Sarah GRAHAM's children. Especially the one
"male unknown" child listed on Warren Co. 1820 census that was born
1801..NC . John and Sarah moved to Warren Co. from NC in 1809. He is
on Tax List of 1812. Shortly after 1824, they moved to Perry Co. I am
praying this male child was named Thomas and is my gggrandfather. If

My ancestors, Peter and Martha Burtt COUNTISS died in Warren Co
(Peter 1826) (Martha 1827), their descendants became aquainted with
the TROXELL (Jacob "Big Jake", Indian Trader) family as well as the
FARRIS(Champion, Thomas, Catherine, James, Elizabeth Louisa)Family.
TROXELL and COUNTISS both married FARRIS girls, either in Warren
County, or Marion County.

Interested in communicating with any descendants of James Wilson &
Hannah Bryan ; Joseph Dial and Margaret Hinkle; and James Wilson and

Susannah Killian (?), b. 1825, married Wiley Bess, b. 1821. Their
children were Isabell (my great-grandmother) b. 1846, Brittania b.
1847, Lucinda b.1849, Cora b. 1853, Betty b. 1856, Isaac b. 1857,
Habian Lawson W. b. 1859, Martha b. 1862, Jefferson b.1864, Josephine
b.1867, and William Carroll b.1869. The family was in Warren County
through 1850; they were in Madison Co., AR before moving to McLennon
Co., TX. Wiley died 11 April 1883 in Montague Co., TX. Susannah's
death date and place are not known to me. All birth years are
approximate. I would welcome any information about Wiley and
Susannah's marriage as well as Isabell's birth. Is Susannah daughter
of Daniel Killian (Kelian) Jr? Is this Daniel Killian a descendent
of Andreas Killian (1702-1788) of North Carolina?

It's been rumored through many years in my family that one of my
(possibly THURMAN )g- g-g-grandmothers was a Cherokee Indian. I have
no idea how to begin to find this information out. I traced my
g-g-g-grandfather Winford THURMAN b. 1844 in McMinnville, TN back to
1850 Warren Co, TN, where I found him at age 5 living with a one
Nancy THURMAN, age 45, Miller THURMAN, age 17 and Sarah S. THURMAN,
age 4. In 1870 I found him in Van Buren Co, TN. He married first
America MILLER, and second Josephine WOOD. I'm trying to find out
who Winford's father and mother were and who Nancy THURMAN was to
him. In your records do you have anything on the THURMAN name? Or
could you give me some guidance as to what I should do now. Thank you

Looking for Hugh WALLACE born In Virgina approx 1775 moved to Warren
county not sure of time. Son William WALLACE, who's youngest son was
Alexander Campbell Wallace born approx 1856 Warren County married
Armetha Sudbury. One son James Anderson Wallace served in the
Confederacy. I have his muster record from archives, but I have not

My G.G. Grandfather was born in Dec. 15, 1815 in Middle TN. His name
was Alfred HALE. his wife was named Jane. I find a Alfred HALE in the
1840 Warren County census. They were in Illinois in 1850. A HALE
voted on the Smith resolution in 1835. His residence was Aquoa. Where
was Aquoa? I think Alfred may be the Cherokee who voted. He would
have been 20 yrs. old. Could he have voted at that age as a Cherokee?

Seeking information and links to John Marion Boyd b. 1861 and d.in
Rock Island, TN about 1883. Said to be buried in the Rock Island
Cemetery. His wife was Amanda Callie Thaxton b. 1861 in TN. At John
M.'s death, she moved with her parents to Thaxton, Mississippi to be
with relatives. All three died soon after (all of tuberculosis or
"weak lungs") leaving my 18 month old grandfather to be reared by a
Thaxton uncle and his family in TX. John M. also had an uncle,
William Marion Boyd, who married Melvina Thaxton after the death of
his first wife and her first husband. They also lived in the Rock
Island area until moving to Montague Co., TX around 1880. Any leads
to relatives or other information would be most greatly appreciated.

I am looking for anything on a William Thompson, b: c1778 d: 10 Jan
1852 in Warren County, TN. Buried in Shellsford Church Cemetery in
Warren County, TN. Supposedly was a Baptist Minister of this Church
around 1850. Wife's name was Mahala. Some say he came from Green
County, TN and maybe earlier Lee County, Va. Married 3 times, Mahala

I am hoping to make contact with descendants or researchers of Stephen
CANTRELL, and Frances L. SPANGLER. They were married April 5, 1866
in Warren Co., TN. Their children were: David Luna, William G.,
Betty Jane, Margarette Lucinda, James Thomas, Lula Belle, Rhoda
Pauline. All of the children were born near McMinnville, TN.
Stephen was the son of Stephen CANTRELL and Lucinda MULLINS. Frances
was the daughter of David & Elizabeth SPANGLER. Are there any
researchers of this line that know of any family bible information or
pictures of these individuals? Thanks.

Elizabeth HENDRIX, dau of JOHN m. Edward HOGAN 3/25/1783 in Lincoln
Co. Kentucky. Edward died in Warren Co., TN 1827, and Elizabeth in
1848. Who were their Kentucky/Virginia ancestors?

FISHER loking for Tennessee W. Fisher b 1872 where I dont know maybe
Warren Co. She married on April 24, 1884 to John Wesley Graham in

Searching for the descendants or any informaton on Leroy CLARK, he
married Martha J. McWHIRTER, Oct. 13,1869 in Warren Co. Tn. daughter
of George Marlin McWHIRTER and Sarah Cunningham.
