Beasley, School Teacher, Dies Of Illness<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Joe D. Beasley,<\/strong> a teacher in the Warren County schools for several years,\u00a0World War II Army officer and a well known resident of the seventh district, died at Lively Heights Nursing Home Thursday afternoon at 1: 50 o&#8217;clock, after a prolonged illness. He was 47. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o&#8217;clock at Armstrong Church of Christ, following a prayer service at the chapel of High Funeral Home at 1:30 o&#8217;clock. Officiating was <strong>Rev. R.L. Benton<\/strong>, minister of the First Methodist Church, and burial was in Armstrong cemetery. <strong>Mr. Beasley<\/strong>, native of Overton county, was born September 15, 1904. His parents were <strong>George S. Beasley<\/strong>, Warren county farmer, and <strong>Della Eubank Beasley<\/strong> and he was married June 11, 1936 to <strong>Miss Lucille Hughes.<\/strong> She survives. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Prior to World War II, <strong>Mr. Beasley<\/strong> was vocational agriculture and science teacher at Central high school here and as a Reserve Army officer, he entered military service shortly after the outbreak of World War II. During extended Army duty he saw combat action in the Pacific theater of operations. Returning from military duty, Mr. Beasley became vocational agriculture instructor at Irving College high school, a position he held until ill health forced his retirement. In addition to his teaching duties, he operated a farm in the seventh district. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the American Legion. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by one son, <strong>Joe Hughes Beasley<\/strong>, McMinnville; two sisters,<strong> Mrs. Firm Lusk <\/strong>and <strong>Miss Euereathea Beasley<\/strong>, both of McMinnville.
