W. Akeman, 80, Dies Of Illness<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>John Walton Akeman,<\/strong> 80-year-old retired farmer and well known Warren county citizen, died at his home at Smyrna Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o&#8217;clock following an illness of two months.\u00a0 Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o&#8217;clock at Smyrna Church of Christ with the minister, <strong>Silas F. Shaw,<\/strong> and<strong> John W. High<\/strong> officiating. \u00a0Burial was in Smyrna cemetery.\u00a0 Mr. Akeman native of Warren county, was born August 25, 1871.\u00a0 He was a son of <strong>George Akeman<\/strong> and<strong> Martha Cartwright Akeman<\/strong> and was first married to <strong>Miss Thena Pettit<\/strong> April 2, 1902. She died December 9, 1927 and Mr. Akeman was married March 19, 1933 to <strong>Miss Mary Jaco<\/strong>. She survives. Mr. Akeman was a member of the Church of Christ and had been a resident of the fifth district practically all of his life.\u00a0 He is survived by one daughter, <strong>Mrs. Beecher Hudson,<\/strong> McMinnville, and a brother, <strong>George Akeman<\/strong>, also\u00a0 of McMinnville.
