NEWBY, Willie A. Hillis (1918-2001)
Willie A. Newby, 82, of Cookeville passed away Monday, March 5, 2001. Newby was born September 25, 1918, in Van Buren County, the daughter of John Titus Hillis and Nancy Louella Roberts Hillis. She was retired from Rockford Textile and attended the Church of Christ. Services were Thursday, March 8, 2001, in the Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Crain Hill Cemetery. Alvin Pegg officiated. Newby was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Bouldin. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Bogle of Nashville; Judy Constock of Unionville; Carol Newby of FL; two sons, Bill Newby of Cookeville; Butch Newby of Algood; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

NORRIS, Charlie Mae Spakes (circa 1943-1986)Charlie Norris
Mrs. Charlie Mae Norris, 48-year-old resident of Beersheba Springs, died unexpectedly at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Warren County General Hospital. A native of Warren County, she was the wife of Bobby Norris and a daughter of the Charlie Lee and Mary Deltress Spakes. Besides her husband she is survived by a son and two daughters, Tony, Carla Marie and Tonya Lee Norris, all of Beersheba Springs. Also surviving are three brothers and three sisters, Donald Spakes of McMinnville, Ronnie and Dudley Spakes, Patricia Richardson, all of Rock Island, Lynda Hines and Faye Spakes of this city. Funeral services will be conducted by Alton Markum at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of High Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Preston Heights Cemetery at Quebeck.Southern Standard, McMinnville, TN. Mon, 23 Jun 1986.
