Dried Apple Cake
(Great Grandmother
Phares)
2 cups dried apples,
chopped fine and soaked in water overnight.
Then cook in
1 cup molasses until soft.
Add 1 cup each
of butter, sugar, sour milk, 2 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. each of cinnamon, nutmeg,
cloves, and lemon extract, flour enough to make stiff, 1 cup raisins may
be added.
Mix all together
and bake in slow oven for 1 hour.
* This recipe
is a community based collection of recipes from Salanis area. Apples need
to be chopped very finely.
