Tomato Catsup

(A. Harriman)

1 quart strained tomatoes

1/2 tsp. celery seed, scant

1/8 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. dry mustard

a small amount of allspice and cloves on the tip of a teaspoon red pepper to taste

1/2 medium onion, chopped

2 tbsp. sugar

6 tbsp. vinegar

Cook as thick as any catsup.
