Natchez, February 3rd 1859Dear brother:
I am disposed to send you few lines by the perusal of which you will learn that we are all well and through the mercy of a merciful God have enjoyed general good health since you last heard from us. hoping you and yours have largely shared the same great blessing. I suppose you are still living in Gallatin we are yet in Natchez, more for the purpose of sending our children to School than anything else, we can do in the other respects as well or perhaps something better than we could on a farm. Our town has been quite healthy since the epidemic subsided.
When you see any of my old friends please remember me to them, inform me of brother Jessee & siss Carolines address, your Son W. H & Mr. N. I would be glad to send you all a letter that would interest you, but just now do not think how to proceed further, hoping to hear from you Shortly I remain your brother in love &c.
