TNGenWeb’s Special Project, People of Color in Tennessee History, originated as “People of Color in the Old South.”  Most recently, that site was coordinated by Sandra Johnson.  Another Special Project, the 1850 and 1860 Slave Censuses, has been incorporated into the present-day revamped site you now see.

The First People of Tennessee Special Project remains a separate site within TNGenWeb.
