Services were held for Vergie L. MAULDIN of Memphis on Tuesday afternoon in the Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home Inc. chapel. Mrs. MAULDIN died in Baptist Central after a lengthy illness. Gwyn PUGH and Ron SMITH officated the services with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Born in Covington, she was the daughter of Marcus and Maggie Bell DOLE HARTSFIELD. She is survived by her husband, John F. MAULDIN; two sons, John Wayne and Marcus Terry MAULDIN of Memphis; five daughters Connie F. WALKER and Vicki BARNES of Memphis, Bertha Mae HOLCOMB of Terrell, Tx., Betty PILKINGTON of Covington, and Brenda KLEIN of Mesquite, Tx.; one brother, Floyd HARTSFIELD, and two sisters; Mary Sue MCCLAIN and Josie Bell JOY of Covington; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
