Services were held for Parnell G.KNIGHT of Brighton on Monday afternoon in the chapel of Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home Inc. Mr. KNIGHT died in Baptist Central Hospital in Memphis after a lengthy illness. Rev. Earl PHELPS with Rev. Ralph MATLOCK officiated the services with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Born in Covington, he was the son of James Monroe and Dora Ella BASKIN KNIGHT and was a member of Holly Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. KNIGHT, who was formerly employed by the Dupont Company for four years, drove a school bus for the Tipton County School System for 12 years prior to his retirement. He leaves his widow, Lillie Theo ANDERSON KNIGHT; one son, Anderson Monroe "Andy" KNIGHT of Collerville; two daughters, Bettye KNIGHT SHELLEY of Covington and Patsy KNIGHT FITE of Munford; one brother, Welton KNIGHT of Covington; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
