Memphis Commerical Appeal - July 22, 1908
MAYO - At residence, No. 738 Vollentine Ave. (formerly No. 724 Brinkley
St.) Tuesday, July 21, 1908, at 4 o'clock a.m. Albert, aged 76 years, 6 months,
husband of Mary and father of Quintard, Wade, James, and Misses Julia and
Mary MAYO, and Mrs. W. H. MOORE, Mrs. T. E. BELL, of this city, and Mrs.
A. O. BURTON of Blythesville, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at Church of the Good Shepard this (Wednesday)
morning at 10 o'clock. Friends are invited, Interment private.

Albert and Mary Mayo lived their last years in Memphis, but Albert moved
to Tipton County approximately 1842, from Pitt County, NC. Served in the
Confederate Army, Tenn 4th Infantry, Company I, Tipton County Rifles. Married
Mary Johanna Harrell in December 1865.
