Robert Lee Beasley was born 9 May 1834 in Clarke County, Georgia to Chapman Beasley and Elizabeth Thacker. Robert enlisted in the Civil War at Cedar Springs, Alabama on 28 Jan 1861, under the command of Col. Norwood. Robert was a Corporal in Company K, 55th Regiment of the Alabama Infantry. During the Seige of Vicksburg, he was captured and imprisoned. Robert Lee Beasley signed the Oath Of Allegiance on 6 July 1863.
Robert settled in Tipton County, where he applied for Confederate Pension on 4 March 1896, where he states that he was a widowed farmer, with five children. Three of his children are buried in Tipton County, a son, Aaron A. Beasley, at Munford Cemetery. Two daughters, Elizabeth "Bettie" Annie Edwards and Frances Arrie Willis are buried at Mt. Lebabon Cemetery.
Robert died 17 May 1912, in District 12 from pneumonia. He was buried at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
