My Grandmother, Janie Lou Parsley was born in Ripley, TN on July 25, l872, daughter of Nancy Ann and John Forrest Parsley. She attended school and church at Lightfoot, Tn. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She had three Sisters, Jessie, who married James Burks; Nora, who after Jessie's death also married James Burks; and Mary Frances, who married Luther Gaines. She had one brother: Minos who married May Wadley. She also had two half-brothers: Robert and Morgan Matthews. Robert, maried Fannie Braden and Morgan married Sallie Patten. Two half-sisters: Josephine who married Edward Maxwell and Lucy, who married Harve Parsley, all of them deceased. On March 13, l889 Janie Lou Parsley was married to John Calvin Hill.
