In the name of God Amen:
I William Alderson of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form forth coming [that's to say] I give and bequeath to my son John Alderson the track of land where I now live containing two hundred and fifty acres. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth two Negro girls [vis] Rachael and Emily, one horse worth fifty dollars and saddle, one cow and calf, bed and furniture and fifty dollars in cash. I give and bequeath to my son William Alderson one Negro boy Lewis. I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann two hundred dollars. And all the rest of my property to be [ viz] Negroes, horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, and all the other species of property belonging to me at my decease, and to be equally divided among my five children (viz] John Boyle, William Alderson, Annie Harris, Elizabeth Alderson, after my just debts are settled and I appoint and make my son William Alderson and John Boyle joint executors of this my last Will and testament, desiring my said son and son-in-law to take on the charge and trouble and to see the same performed according to my ---- interest and meaning, and lastly. I do hereby revoke all former Will or Wills by me, and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament. In witness hereof. I the said William Alderson have here unto set my hand and seal, this seventeenth day of October, Eighteen Hundred and Twenty Nine.

Signed sealed published and delivered by the said William Alderson the Testator as for his last Will and Testament in the presemse of us, who have subscribed our names as Witnesses there to in the presense and at the request of the Testator.

The last Will and Testament of William Alderson dec'dwas exhibited in Court for probate and was duly prooved agreeable to law by the oath of James Alderson and Francis Borin the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and there upon John Boyle and William Alderson the Executors therein named appeared in Court and together with James Alderson and Henry S Anthony, their ---------- intend into and acknowledged their bond to the Governor in the sum ogf Four Thouusand Dollars conditioned as the said ------, and took the oath of Exon prescribed by Law.
