In the name of God Amen
Know all men by the _____ that I Rowland T. Hodges of the County of Sumner and the State of
Tennessee being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, here _____ _____
to make and publish my last will and Testament - and by these _____ do make and publish my last
will and Testament in manner and form as follows. First: I wish all my just debts and Funeral
Expenses paid. Secondly: I wish my son Lawson M. Hodges to _____ and my son Ezekial N.
Hodges __ other filly at valuation and my daughters "Louisa" Elizabeth, Sarah, and Chloe each a
bed if there are so many, if not as they _____ mentioned as far as they go at valuation also my
daughter Louisa a saddle. I wish my wife Nancy to have the bed she had before I married her. I
wish my land and all the rest of my estate sold the _____ [property or properly] on a credit of one
year, and the land on a one and two years credit and the amount equaly divided between John C.,
Lawson M., Ezekial N., Louisa, Elizabeth, Sarah, Chloe, and Isham Hodges and Asa M. Hodges,
after [taking?] out the aforesaid valuation of the property hereby given to them the aforesaid
Lawson, Ezekial, Elizabeth, Louisa, Sarah and Chloe. I hereby revoke all other wills, confirming
this my last will and Testament. October 28, 1839.
