Know all men by these presents that I, Rachel L. Gibson of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all other Wills heretofore made, or purporting to be made by me.

1st. I will that my body be decently buried, in keeping with my station in life, and that all my just debts be paid, both out of the proceeds of the sale of the property enumerated in the sixth clause of this my will.

2nd. I give and bequeath to my oldest son William A. Gibson one bed and bed stead and bed clothing and two chairs.

3rd. I give and bequeath to Elisha Gibson [pg. 345] my second son, one clothes press, one bed, bed stead and clothing and two chairs.

4th. I give and bequeath to my youngest son, Walter V. Gibson the bed stead in the south room up stairs, the bed now on the low bed stead in my room, with covering, one large mirror, two chairs and one bay mare named Mellie.

5th. I give and bequeath to my daughter Zenada Eudora Gibson, the serving, John's trunk, the bed, bed stead and covering in the parlor, one large mirror, one waiter, all my clothing &c., one old trunk, one gray mare named spright, all the Kitchen and table furniture and appurtenances and all other house hold articles not already disposed of in the will.

6th. I will that the following property be sold by my executor at such times and at either public or private sale as he may deem best for the interest of my heirs, to wit: one cow, one steer, one heifer, two calves, the flock of sheep and lambs, the hogs, one mule, two filly colts, also all agricultural tools, implements, machinery, gears &c., all the corn, hay, meat, lard, syrup and provisions and growing crops, of any kind not heretofore disposed of, and the executor is directed to pay out of this money my funeral expenses and my just debts, and divide the proceeds between the four children first named in this will. {pg 346]

7th. I hereby give and bequeath to my brother William A. Rice the possession of the bodies of my daughter Zenada E. and Walter V. Gibson until they are of lawful age, and desire that he have exclusive control over, and the care of them just as though he was their father.

8th. I hereby give and bequeath to my son, James O. Gibson one clock.

9th. I hereby appoint and confirm Isaac Shannon to be executor of this my last will and testament, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 26th day of March A.D. 1886. (signed) Rachel L. Gibson '

Sumner County Court April Term 1886.
The last will and testament of Rachel L. Gibson, deceased, was this day presented in open Court for probate and was duly proven by the oaths of W. D. Rice and O. D. Willis, subscribing witnesses thereto which is received by the Court and ordered to be recorded. and I. N. Shannon, the executor named in the will, appeared in open Court together with his sureties, W. D. Rice and T.(Tyree) H. Elam and entered into and acknowledged their bond to the State of Tennessee in the penal sum of one hundred dollars conditioned as the law requires and said I. N. Shannon [pg 347] as ecutor (sic) aforesaid was duly qualified.
