I William Purvis of the State of Tennessee and County of Sumner, being in weak in body . . .
First I hope and wish my soul to return to the Almighty from where I came and my body to the
earth . . . buried in a decent manner at the direction of my Executors . . . I give in manner

I leave to my wife Sally Purvis Peg and her three children . . . after her decease to be equally
divided
between my three children, Henry Purvis, Sally & William Purvis share and share alike.

I give my riffle gun to my son James Purvis also the _? of my family tools . . . I also give my year
old colt to my son Edward Purvis . . .

I give to my son John Purvis . . . the negro man Stephen that is now under a mortgage to Nathan
