Copy of the last will & testament of Peter Lemmons Sr together with a copy of the report of the
probate of said will & testament and of the qualifications of two of the executors named in the
will. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 24th day of March AD 1817
& 41st year of American Independence.

"In the Name of God aman I Peter Lemmons Sr, of the County of Giles & State of Tennessee
being in a low state of helth but Blessed be god in a Reasonable State of mind Caulling to mind
the mortallity of my body knowing that it is appointed Onst for all men to Die __ I Peter
Lemmons Sr. make and ordain this my last will and Testement and Doth make and ordain my
Beloved Friends John Lemmons William Lemmons and Arthur Hicks My Executers &
administeraters of my Earthly astate Recommending of them to pay of all of my Just and Lawfull
Debts after all My Lawfull Debts is paid I will and Bequeth unto my Beloved wife Mary Lemmons
all the profits arising of the plase where I and she now lives on and One sirrel mair four years old
her sadel & bridal and all the Cattel and hogs corn & other vegetabels together with all my house
hoald furneture and Further I Do allow and order that my horse and sadel will be soald at the
Discretion Of the Executers and when that money together with all other Debts Due to me air
Collectted or a sufficient part there of I order that the Executers Buoy a sutabel negro to waight
on hir if it be hir Choice not other wise and the Balance of the money for hir Cumfortabel support
at the Descration of the Executers this to be Done and the above to Remain hirs During hir
natural Lifetime or widowhood then or when the Change takes plase if by marriage an Equal
Divide of all the astate she takeing a Childs part which is to say the sixth part But should the
Change be by Deth I Do will and beqeath unto my Beloved Childron or the hairs of their Bodies
or their Lawfull hairs of all Save that of Martha Heffington that is to the heirs of hir body an Eqel
Divide of all the astate that is to say unto the hairs of Martha Heffingtons Body Deceased my
Oaldest Daughter secondly unto John Lemmons 3d by William Lemmons 4th by Mary Hicks 5th
by Peter Lemmons Jr oanly Excpt from the astate mony anough to give my Grandson Issac
Heffington Eighttean Monthis schoollen if he should Live and Continue with his Grand Mother
unto he is forteen years of age if She Should Live & __ __ Issac to have the scoolling against he
is of that age above stated and this I Do make and Ordain my Last will and testemant to stand
good in Law Disallowing & Disanulling of all and everey other will heretofore Makeing this my
Last will in Deed in witnef here of I set my hand and affix my Seal the 28th Day of October and in
the year of our Lord 1816 and in the presents of

Sumner County Court, __ __ __The last will & Testament of Peter Lemmons __ was produced in
Court for probate and the same was thereupon duly proved in open court by the oaths of Joseph
Spralding & Stephen Tribb subscribing witnesses unto __ ordered to be recorded Whereupon
John Lemmons & William Lemmons two of the Executors named in the will appeared in Court &
qualified as such by taking the oath
