I Neill Patterson being of sound mind and the proper exercise of all its powers and realizing the
uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, which according to the course of nature in my case
cannot be far in the future, do this day make this my last will and testament revoking all others by
me at any time heretofore made.
1st. I give my soul to God who gave it, and direct that my body shall have a decent burial, the expenses of which shall be defrayed out of any monies in my possession at death, or arising from the sale of any of my personal or real estate or from any other source.
2nd. Having heretofore given to my Sons William and Alexander Patterson both real and personal property, I hereby in addition give each of them or their heirs, or other legal representative, the sum of one dollar $1. after my just debts are settled.
3rd. I give to my beloved wife Margaret Ann Patterson, all the remainder of my property both real and personal, consisting of lands and tenements houses and household furniture, all kinds of stock, moneys cash notes choses(sic) in action or any other species of property whater? that I may die possessed of to have and hold in fee simple and in absolute right and ownership to sell (pg 222) and transfer and make any disposition of she may desire. I hereby appoint and constitute James W. Simpson executor of this my last Will and testament to settle all my just debts and wind up my estate, according to law.
In witness whereof I hereby set my hand and seal in the presence of witnesses this the fifth day of
June eighteen hundred and eighty 1880.

The last will and Testament of Neill Patterson, deceased was this day produced in open Court for
probate and was duly proven by the oaths of John Roney and J.E. Cheatham subscribing witnesses
thereto which is received by the Court and ordered to be recorded. James W. Simpson the
Executor named in the will appeared in open Court and renounced the execution of the same.
