Sumner County
I, M. T. Perdue do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking
and making void all others by me at any time made.
First, I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any moneys that (I) may die possessed of, or that may come into the hands of my Executor.
Secondly, I hereby will and bequeath to my son Burrell for and during his natural life, free from any contract, control, marital, Homestead or dower right of his present wife or any future wife he may have, the following lands, Viz: My home place on which I now live, it being the same place or land conveyed to me by C. H. Kirby and wife Lucy A. Kirby, Mary E. Woodall, Isaac Kirby and wife M. E. Kirby and appears on record in the Registers office of Sumner County in Book Nos. 32 & 33 pages 31 & 140 respectively.
Also all the lands conveyed to me by W. F. Watwood and wife Anna Watwood and for further description of said land, reference is made to deed from said W. F. Watwood and wife Anna Watwood to me. Also all the lands conveyed to me by my father Lewis Perdue as appears of record in the said Register's office of Sumner County in Book No. 29 Page 202 and for a more minute description of said lands reference is made to said Deeds of Conveyances from the above named parties.
At the death of my said son Burrell, said lands is to go to his child or children jointly and equally it being my intent to give, Grant, and devise to my son Burrell the use of said lands during his life and at his death to go to his children.
And my Said son Burrell is not to sell his life estate to said lands, and said life estate shall not be liable for any of my said son's debts or contracts. If at the death of my said son any or all of his children should be minors, then in that event my Executor is authorized and empowered and directed to take charge of that part of said lands belonging to said minor or minors and use or dispose of the same for the benefit of said child or [pg 116] Children as he the said Executor may see fit or deem proper.
Thirdly, I hereby appoint Charles F. Pond my Executor.
In witness whereof I do to this my will set my hand this the 9 day of May, 1896.

A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of M. T. Perdue dec'd, was this
day produced in open Court for probate, when the same was proven by the oaths of W. F. Butler
and W. B. Appling, subscribing witnesses thereto when the same is ordered filed and recorded as
the last Will and Testament of M. T. Perdue dec'd.
