In the name of God amen: I William McDaniel of the county of Sumner and state of Tennessee
being indesposed in body but perfectally sound in mind and memory and knowing the certainly of
death and the uncertainly of living do make and ordain this my last will and testament. In manner
and form as followers to wit; It is my will that after all of my just debts and funeral expenses are
paid, I allow my wife Martha McDaniel to ___ and assay all my personal estate of every
discription whatever during her natural life as widowhood and at her death I allow all my estate
left to my wife to be equally divided amongst all of my children share and share alike. I allow and
disort that my said wife Martha shall raise and educate my four youngest children out of the
property left her by my said will. I allow my wife to give any property or money that she can
spare to any of my children when they arrive at lawful age and to charge them with the same
which shall be taken out of their part of my estate at the death of my wife . It is my will that all
of the property left to my son Joseph McDaniel should he die without issue shall return at his
death to his brothers and sisters and be orginally divided amongest them. I do hereby appoint my
beloved wife Martha McDaniels, Executrix and my son Alford McDaniels Executor of this my last
will and testament hereby avoking all former will or wills by me made. Its testamony whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal the 24 day of March 1820.

Sumner County Court May term 1820
The followering (inked out) probate and thereupon said will was duly proven by the death of
James Guild a subscribing ____ ____ and at the same time Martha McDaniel and Alfred
McDaniel Ececutrix and Executor names in said will approved in court and quilafied as such by
taking the oath of an executor prescribed by law and together with Frances M Weathered and
William Smith their securities returned into and acknowledged their bond to the Govenor in the
penalty of five thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs.
