Hendersonville May 19th., 1884
Know all men by these presence that I, John Byran a citizen of Sumner County, State of Tennessee being of sound mind and knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death do make this my last Will and testament, to wit; for the love and affection I bear my wife Delany W. Byran I bequeath to her at my death of my property both personal and real to hold and to have during her natural life or in case she should marry she is to have only one third of said property, and at the death of my wife the said Delany W. Byran I bequeath to my son O. C. Byran and his heirs all of the personal and real estate after paying to each of my other Children five dollars a piece to wit; George S. Byram the heirs of Susan Elizabeth Byram Sarah Byram Mary C. Byram John W. Byram Tomor D. Byram [pg 338] Sopha W. Byram, now in case that my wife Delany W. Byram should marry and get one third of all of my property to hold for her natural life. I desire my son O. C. Byram to have and hold him and his heirs forever, the remaining two thirds of my property both personal and real. And at the death of my wife the said Delaney W. Byram. I bequeath to my son O. C. Byram and his heirs the one third of my property bequeathed in this will to my wife Delaney W. Byram after deducting what has already been mentioned the additional sum of five dollars each for my two sons Melvin V. Byram and William W. Byram. And further I do Will and request my son O. C. Byram at my death to become my Executor in witness I have given my signature to this my last Will and testament in the presence of the subjoined witnesses.

The last Will and testament of John Byram deceased, was this day produced in open Court for
probate and
was duly proven by the oaths of J. W. Rutherford and A. G. Rutherford, Jr. subscribing witnesses
thereto.
There upon O. C. Byram the Executor named in the will appeared in open Court together with
Joe Sanders
and T. C. Mulligan his securities and entered into and acknowledged their [pg 339] Bond to the
State of
Tennessee in the penal sum of two hundred dollars conditioned as the law requires. And said O.
C. Byram
as Executor aforesaid was duly qualified. And the Clerk of this Court will issue to him letters
testamentary.
