March 11th, 1882
Being weak of body but sound of mind and disirrous of doing right, I do this day make this my last Will & Request that after my death my Wife Mary Jackson is to have all my Real Estate that is not conveyed to others during her life time, and at her death to be equally divided between any lawful heirs except my son William Jackson who to the best of my knowledge & belief is in my debt in the sum of Sixty Eight (83?) dollars for which if not paid over to A. W. Jackson and Mother before her death then to be taken out of his interest in said lands. And I bequeath to my wife Mary Jackson all of my Personal Effects whatever except One Rome Colt which I give to Alice Thompson my Granddaughter for services rendered the family.
After my death my wife, Mary Jackson as long as she lives is to have full control of the place and all personal whatever except what is mentioned above and to collect any thing coming to me and is to pay Burial Expenses. But if I should want to change the above at any time before my death I have the right to do so. Given under my hand this day & date above. (signed) Jessie Jackson

The last Will and Testament of Jesse Jackson, deceased, was this day presented in open Court for probate and was duly proven by the oaths of W. G. Lanier and 'blank space' subscribing witnesses [pg 342] thereto which is received by the Court and ordered to be recorded.
