I make this my last Will and Testament revoking all others made by me at any time.
1st., It is my will that my burial expenses be paid as soon after my decease as is convenient out of any property that I may die possessed of.
Secondly, That all my just debts be paid.
Thirdly, for the love and affection I have for my Niece Mrs: Elizabeth Hickerson I give my place on which I live with the house hold and kitchen furniture to have and to dispose of as she may see proper.
Fourthly, I give to my Brothers and Sisters my stock implements & tools.
Fifthly, out of any monies that I may have after paying my burial expenses and Doctor: bill I give to Mrs. Elizabeth Hickerson.
Sixthly, I appoint as my Executor Z. F. Green, given under my hand this April 19 1883.

The last will & Testament of J. H. Duke, deceased was this day produced in open Court for probate & was
duly proven by the oaths of Thos. M. Woodson, and C. E. Douglass, subscribing witnesses thereof which is
received by the Court and ordered to be recorded. Z. F. Green the Executor named in the will appeared in
open Court and accepted the appointment therein made and said Z. F. Green, together with his sureties C.
E. Douglass, and W. A. Holder, appeared in open Court and entered into and acknowledged their bond to
the State of Tennessee in the penal sum Twenty five hundred dollars conditioned as the law requires & said
Z. F. Green, [pg 258] as Executor aforesaid was duly qualified & Letters of Executorship ordered to issue to
him.
