In the name of God amen: I James C. Wilson of Sumner County and State of Tennessee, though worn and frail of body yet of sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following: viz:
Firstly: It is my will that my just debts and charges be paid out of my personal estate by my
exectors hereafter named. Also I give and bequeath to my loving wife Mary Wilson during her
natural life the whole of my plantation whereas I at present reside excepting four lots of each one
acre that is, to say two acres to be taken off at the west side of said plantation & adjoining the
public road to be laid off on the north side of said road for my two daughters namely Iva and
Manissa (or Marissa) their heirs el? forever, also two acres to be taken off at the south side of
said road and adjoining the aforesaid road for my two daughters namely Sabrina? and Emaline
their heirs el forever. I also give and bequeath to said ( line blacked out and unreadable) and
farming utencils of any discription, also my stock of horses, cattle, sheep, swine el. My money in
hand with the debts due either by book or obligation - also my personal estate that may be left as
intended for me by my mother in her will and testament - also the grain growing in the field as
already harvesting on the plantation to use occupy and dispose of at his own discretion excepting
such as part or parts often herein specially exempted also what ever might be will to me from any
further estate when a division there of may take place at the decease of my mother also any
negros --- named Daniel, I give and bequeath to my son Franklin Wilson his heirs el at the
decease of my wife, my home plantation excepting the four lots of one acres each already
disposed of - also the said negro, Daniel I give & bequeath the plantation of one hundred acres of
land whereon my son now lives, at her decease to my two daughters Iva & Manissa? or their
heirs and ___ forever to be equally divided between them. I also bequeath to my said two
daughters Iva & Ma? the negro fellow named Dave to be sold either at public or private sale at
the discretion of my exectors and the money to be equally divided between them athe said Iva &
Ma? or their heirs el forever. I give and bequeath to my two daughters namely Sabrina (or Salina)
& Emaline their heirs el forever, a certain tract of land lying on Spring Creek of Duck River in
Bedford County containing four hundred acres more or less to be equally divided between them.
I give and bequeath to my said daughter Sabrina (or Salina) her heirs et al forever a certain negro
child named Martha. I give and bequeath to my said daughter above? her heirs et al forever a
certain negro name Albert, It is moreover my _ _ mt tract of land containing _
Bedford County to be sold for whatever if any being either at public or private sale at the
direction of my executors in like manner my pleasure carriage and the money to be the property
of my wife in order to enable an to satisfy the followering legacies viz: Two hundred dollars to
my son Franklin Wilson and two hundred dollars to my grandson James Henderson that is to say
when the money is collected but the two hundred dollars to my said grandson James Henderson
not to be paid to him in less space of time than four years this money than to be put out at interest
till he arrives at lawful age. Lastly I nominate and appoint my friend Shadrick Nye and Jonothan
Wilson Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other and former will or
wills. In testamony where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of August in the
year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and eighteen. signed and sealed in presence of

Sumner Co Court May term 1820
The last will and testament of James C. Wilson dec was exhibited in court and this James was
thereupon duly proved of the oath of Shedarick Nye, Charles Henderson subscribing within open
interest and ordered to be recorded where upon said Shaderick Nye and Jonathan Wilson
Executors named in said will approved in court and took the oath of an executor prescribed by
law and together with Andrew Blyth and Charlie Henderson their securities entered into and
acknowledged their bond to the Governor in the penalty of twenty thousand dollars conditioned
as the law directs.
