In the name of God amen, I John B. Johnson of the state of Tennessee, Sumner County being sick and weak in body but (thank God) of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and soul it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows:-------- I give and bequeath to my to my brother Chapman Johnson _

of Virginia the following negro a yellow woman called Hallie and her four children, David Thornton, Wilard and Jack in trust for my sister Ann Parrish to be applied to sch and if division was benefit all my estate both real and personal. I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Johnson to be kept _ by her for the use of herself and my children until my second son Chapman who was 10 years old the 21st. of last October comes of age of which time it is my wish and advice that the estate both real and personal be equally divided between my said wife and three children Thomas Chapman and Mariah and if my executors should judge it advantagious to my family to sell my estate I hereby authorize and empower them to sell the same both real and personal whether for cash or on credit and apply the proceeds endoweth (to wit) to be put out at intrest and the proceeds applied to the use of my said wife and children until my second son Chapman comes of age at which time I wish it to be equally divided between my said wife and three children Thomas, Chapman and Mariah and I do appoint as executors to this my last will and testament my wife Elizabeth Johnson and my brother Chapman Johnson of the state of Virginia and I do hereby publish establish and ordain this to be my last will and testament hereby revolking and dismissing all others by me made Feb.12, 1815
