Know all men by these presents(sic) that I James M. Hollis of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee knowing the certainty of death and now being of sane mind do hereby make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit;
First, I will my soul to God who gave it, and my body to a decent burial..
Second, I wish all my just debts and funeral expenses paid.
Third, I leave all my estate real and personal(sonal marked out) ishable(added) to my Wife Orry Hollis during her natural life to be under the management of my son John M. Hollis (pg 168) provided he maintains and supports his Mother, Orry Hollis. I will and bequeath to my daughter,Blackburn the sum of two hundred Dollars in current money to her or her heirs forever,
Fifth, I give and bequeath all the rest of my estate at the death of my wife Orry Hollis to my son John M. Hollis consisting of 120 acres of land. And all the perishable property, money, debts and effects of every kind to him and his heirs forever.
Sixth, I appoint my son John M. Hollis sole executor.
In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my Seal this the eight day of October in the year of our Lord. One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty nine.

Signed, Sealed and acknowledged in our
presents(sic) and witnessed by us at the
request of this Testator in his presents(sic)

The last Will and Testament of James M. Hollis dec'd was this day produced in open Court for
probate and
was duly proven by the oaths of M. Hodges and A. G. Brigance subscribing witnesses (pg 269)
thereto
which is received by the Court and ordered to be recorded. John M. Hollis, Jr. the executor
named in the
Will appeared in open Court and accepted the execution of the same thereupon said James M.
Hollis
together with his securities A. G. Brigance and Wm. Dodd appeared in open Court and entered
into and
acknowledged their bond to the State of Tennessee in the penal sum of five hundred Dollars as
the law
directs, and said J. M. Hollis was duly qualified.
