I William Devenport of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee being in sound body and mind, and knowing that it is affixed? for all men to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament
I desire after all necessary expences are paid for my burial (etc) that all my just debts Shall be paid.
In the
Second
place I desire my children tp receive a decent Education in that I trust some what to my Executors
in as
much as I wish ( ? ) and dispicition of my children (cruselled?) if they make fair promises I desire
they shall
be all educated (ceonselled?) with the means may be left, my Executors are authorize if this
openion it will
be expediant to use the portion that may be coming to each of my sons the interest in the land on
where I
have resided keeping in vested the expenditures and where they or either of them become become
of age
they shall have an equal interest in my estate and Should my Execotors have sold my land before
that time
no part is to be paid to either unless he she or they give to the purchases a release of his or her
interest in
the same, but Should either marry before they come of age then I wish my executors or executrix
to loan
him or her such portion as will be (in as?) his or her part subject to the control of my Executor or
Executix. I
wish explicitly name and direct that it is my wish that among my four children, to wit; Mary, John,
Jennie and
Tom ( ? ) and equal division of all my estate both real and personal, and what ever expences in the
way of
education one receives or Should have expended on him Shall be counded as a portion of my
estate and
will keep a strict account of same, and lastly, I hereby constitude and appoint Thos. Bryeon and
Presley
Bradford my executors to this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills. In

The last Will and Testament of William B. Devenport deceased was produced in open court for
probate,
and was duly proved by the oaths of B. S. Rucherford and Francis Evite, subscribing witness
